Chrome blocks extensions on its own internal pages — chrome:// URLs, the Chrome Web Store and the extensions gallery. Open a normal website and start the recording there.

Question 2

The recording has no sound

Accepted Answer

Tab audio and Microphone are separate toggles, and both are off by default. Switch on the one you need before pressing record: Tab audio for the page's own sound, Microphone for narration.

Question 3

The microphone or camera doesn't appear

Accepted Answer

Open Settings → Input devices and grant access once. Device names stay hidden until you do. If you previously denied the prompt, re-enable it in the browser's site settings for the extension.

Question 4

The cursor is missing from my recording

Accepted Answer

Tab capture never includes the hardware cursor, so the Highlight cursor toggle is what puts a pointer in the video. Turn it on before recording — it can't be added afterwards.

Question 5

The recording stopped on its own

Accepted Answer

Closing or navigating away from the tab being recorded ends the capture. Keep the tab open for the whole take; you can switch to other tabs freely, and the shortcut stops the recording from any of them.

Question 6

The file is very large

Accepted Answer

Frame rate and output size drive file size more than length does. 30 fps at 1080p is a good default for a demo; 60 fps at native size roughly doubles it.
